After the eye-opening and wonderful experience that we had in Colombia, I thought Ecuador would be a bit of a let down.  In reality, they were just different.  While Colombia was a more cosmopolitan, city sort of country Ecuador is at its best away from civilization and out into the country side.

Adios, Costa Rica

Leaving Costa Rica is less of an adios and more of an hasta luego for me.  It feels sort of like home for me because I spent a semester here in college, and I have "family" here.  I'm absolutely charmed by the Tico's way of appreciating life and their respect for their land.  Costa Rica is anyone's paradise with wild animals, dramatic jungles and beautiful beach towns.  Trouble is that Costa Rica is becoming everyone's paradise.

How It's Changed
The changes have been pretty remarkable in the last 5 years, primarily in the tourism industry.  Their goals are mainly money driven, but it really does make the treasures of Costa Rica more accessible - which of course has it's pluses and minuses.

Adios, Nicaragua

I'll have to admit that before deciding to travel to Nicaragua the only thing that I knew about it was from Beavis' alter ego Cornholio (from the intellectually stimulating show "Beavis and Butthead") who hailed from Nicaragua.  And, yes, I will have to admit after seeing or hearing the word "Nicaragua" every day for 3 weeks, I still thought to myself "I need TP for my bunghole!"  What Beavis and Butthead failed to tell me (because everyone knows they taught me sooo much), was that Nicaragua is the best country in Central America hands down.  I guess that would be hard to slip that fact into the middle of constant penis and fart jokes.  In any case, why do I think Nicaragua is the best Central American country?  Let me count the ways.

In the spirit of fútbol fans in El Salvador, I'm writing my perspective áccent-fílled and in Spanish.  Sorry non-español-ers.  Check out Kyle's perspective.
 
Tuvimos una oportunidad íncreible: fuimos al partido de fútbol por el World Cup Qualifers con El Salvador y Panamá.  Parecía casí imposible que El Salvador podría ser exitoso contra el partido de Panamá, pero logró el imposible.
